People's Republic of China:
Just one year after the year China was founded (1949), the People's Republic of China had interaction with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam that was controlled by Viet Minh. China supported Vietnam's war with French by sending millions dollars of supplies and weapons as well as Luo Guibo who was a famous military adviser. After about four years, China requested Vietnam to accept a partition at the 17th parallel. As the Vietnam War was going on, Chinese leader, Mao Zedong, spent more money assisting North Vietnam in 1962. He claimed that no matter what Vietnam needed, China would try their best to provide. Hundreds of thousand of free guns and troops were sent to Vietnam in a short amount of time. In order to help North Vietnam to fight South Vietnam, China sent great engineers and construction workers to repair and fix the fundamental infrastructure. However, America kept bombing North Vietnam which brought a huge problem to the people that tried to repair their country.

Soviet Union:
At the very beginning of the war, the Soviet Union sent ships to the South China Sea in order to scare South Vietnam. These ships were considered to be "smart", because they could evade bombers by using advanced technologies. In 1965, the Soviet Union shot down the very first American airplane in Vietnam. Because the Soviet Union was against South Vietnam, they spent about 450 million dollars in total buying and making weapons for North Vietnam. They also lost many lives. For instance, they stationed approximately 3,000 troops in Vietnam, and some of them were injured or even killed during battle which was a big sacrifice. For their own purposes, Soviet Union devoted their money, people and energy into the Vietnam War. They were one of the biggest countries contributing to the war, and with the Soviet Union's help, the communists won in 1975 and the Vietnam War that lasted for 21 years ended.

North Korea:
North Korea was not a vital key for the Vietnam War, however, they contributed many kinds of supplies such as ammunition, weapons, and millions of
uniforms to North Vietnam in order to protect communism. In early 1967, North Korea began to send troops, including fighter squadrons, to North Vietnam. Most of the fighter squadrons stayed and defended Hanoi. As a result, North Vietnam won the war.

Cuba:
Compared to other countries that supported North Vietnam, the Communist
Republic of Cuba mainly contributed to debate. For instance, the most well-known
involvement is Fidel Castro's visit to Quảng Trị province, held by North
Vietnam after the Easter Offensive. Cuba was also known for the "Cuba Program" during the Vietnam War. According to former U.S. prisoners, the Cuban military participated in torture activities in prisons during the war time. However, Cuban government never said anything about this matter.
